Label : This article in Wallnews was a way for the people on the homefront to get updates on what was happening overseas. What is good for the government was that they would be able to ensure that only what they wanted the people to see is what they would see. The paper does everything in its power to show the reader the financials of a soldier's war, they want to make sure people know that every little bit they can manage to donate can change the tide of the war. They break down the equipment cost for a single soldier just to show people that just because they are not in the war does not mean that they can’t help. Also important to note the piece on the top of the paper saying “Don’t throw it away! Turn it over!”. This was an essential part of the war effort for the home front. This entailed civilians saving up nearly any scraps of anything they had around the house to give to the war effort, this made it so that all people felt like they had a role in the war and also these materials were useful for the war.
