This article details the different viewpoints of the Oka Crisis of 1990. The journalist details how they do not want to rehash what happened during the Oka Crisis but why it is likely to happen again 30 years later. We see how there are different myths involved in Quebec on how they have been treated similarly by the English settlers and not engaging with the true relationship between the indigenous people and Quebecers. This article details how even though we think that there has been reconciliation done for indigenous people there are still systemic discrimination against indigenous people. The journalist details many different times after the Oka Crisis that there has been systemic discrimination against indigenous people in Quebec but as well as Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Quebec has created a certain view of indigenous people of Kanehsatake becomes the truth shows people a different view that they do not want their people to know about.
