Enlistment poster directed towards single men
This enlistment poster targeted another specific audience compared to the previous one. This poster was directly targeted at single men, they were viewed somewhat differently as they did not have families as depicted in the poster and as was a common theme in enlistment posters, was to chastise those who had not yet enlisted. Often these posters would guilt the unlisted men by invoking emotional thought which was achieved through mentioning friends and family who have been serving in the military and dying while they were not side by side with them. The noble example was one of nationalism and pride in Canada for valiantly defending their allies. While the fight itself was anything but noble, it was still a fight that many of these single men that thought it to be significant, even though that sentiment would have changed for many at the end of the war, it was still an expressed goal for Canada to be seen as a proper nation by the larger world.
