A sad day for Chinese workers as a white man drives the last spike into the Canadian Pacific railway seemingly surrounded by other white men, and not a Chinese man in sight. Donald Smith also known as Lord Strathcona a director of the project was featured driving in the last spike into the CPR. Paying absolutely no homage to whoms blood it was covered in and the path of bodies that lay in its wake. Finished within 4 years ending on the 7th of November 1885, the massive railway sprawling 20,100 km. Would soon connect families and people, which would leave Chinese immigrants not connecting with them. They would receive no recognition, no rewards, no homage, no nothing for the blood sweat and tears poured into, they would receive through discrimination, poverty, and extreme taxation. But, today we celebrate what they did for us, and recognize that they fought every day for us, they do not go unnoticed.
