Although it was still too early to conclude the result of the war, in this short time during and after the war, there was significant growth in Canada's industrial and agricultural industries, a testament to the nation's resilience and progress. Also, by comparing Canada during and after WWI to WWII, the author was able to draw further conclusions about Canada's future. Nationalism was increasing in Canada during this time, and violence against people of other nationalities during this time was becoming more common. The author explains nationalism as a process of "growing up," Canada, being young, is still in its "adolescent" phase but will eventually find a way to become a respectful nation to all its members. This article reminds us that Canada, although a significant influence in the world and the war, is still a relatively new nation with internal struggles; it was a nation that thrived during conflict and will continue to flourish.
